Birthday

Happy Birthday!

The Special Day (Introduction)

Once every year, a special day occurs. Your special day.
It is infact your birthday! Many fun thing happen today: your family, your friends (do you have any?), your work collegues will tell you happy birthday. Big celebration time, — oh wait, right, you do still work today (fuck capitalism).
When you grew up, you certainly remember that birthday's were much nicer. Big anticipation, being excited, getting nice presents, your parents put an effort into making your day nice.

The not so Special Day (Birthday's suck actually)

The existence of a special day shifts the balance of normal day to day expectations, in particular the ones of being loved and cherished. By making a day where those are of big importance, automatically all other days loose this expectation — which is wrong. Every day you must be loved, every day appreciation should be shown to you, every day is good enough to bring you some joy.
Additionally, the existing social obligation makes someone also show affection which isn't there — do they really like you, or do they act like that because its your birthday? Everything is fine, we show you love today. Yes its normal to misstreat you again tomorrow till the day before your next birthday.

A Special Day (Celebrating yourself)

This shouldn't be a demotivation of celebrating yourself. Throw a party, do some drugs, heck even call it your birthday! Make it a truly special day, make it on your own rules, so that its primarly great for yourself <3
